EDMONTON WOMEN'S FILM SOCIETY

The Edmonton Women’s Film Society was formed in March 2004, as a not-for-profit organization with a mandate to promote women in film. Our focus is on women as writers, directors, actors, and producers; in which to explore the esthetic value of film and to develop interest in the technical skills of film, video and the media arts. In order to do this we developed the Reel Femme festival series so that we could showcase female artists in an unbiased atmosphere.

Reel Femme 2009 is a four-day celebration of women in film with award winning and rising star Canadian artists, and will serve as a networking tool for other filmmakers.  We are hosting guest artist Jennifer Fox this year and are very excited about the lineup of films for this years' festival which will run May 4th, 6th, 8th, & 9th, 2009.
