Submissions

The Edmonton Women’s Film Society accepts film and video submissions from female artists for the next  Reel Femme Film Festival in April 2010. All works should be created by women and participated in at least two of the following positions during the production of it: producer, writer or director. All preview copies must be in either DVD or VHS format and include a proper label on the front of the tape with the; Title, Artist’s name, contact information such as phone number, mailing address and email address. Please indicate the year your film was completed, the original format along with a brief synopsis of the film and any digital images that may be used for the program and/or promotional purposes. Please indicate under which category your work is best suited:

• Feature Length Film or Video: These films can deal with any topic or theme as long as it showcases Canadian talent, is produced in Canada or echoes themes of feminist thought. It should be between approximately 60 - 75mins. in length.

• International Program: Any film that is political by nature and deals with women’s issues on a Global level ie. features the works of women.

• Short Film/Video: We are interested in works created by Alberta Artists with a preference for Edmontonian artists. The piece should not exceed 35 mins. in length and is strictly Canadian Content.

• Aboriginal Film: The works of Aboriginal women on both a local and international scale will be highlighted in this category with a strict preference for Canadian Content.

• Queer/ Alternative Film: Should highlight issues for queer or transgendered women and relevant themes.
